The Father: Reboot – Ben Drowned Creepypasta Horror Game

The Father: Reboot is a creepypasta based on the Ben Drowned Creepypasta story. This version is a remake of the creators original game. There’s been rumors going around online about a cursed ROM of Majora’s Mask for the N64. After going down a bunch of rabbit holes, you manage to find it and decide to try it out. You boot the emulator, and the game lives up to its cursed reputation.

You start off in a low lit dungeon with a figure of link standing in front of you. There’s really no solid story or meaning, you leave the cave and arrive at the town. Your mission is to collect 4 masks, and help whoever has been cursed in the game. Giant heads floating in the sky, odd music, it’s a pretty weird scene.

You can walk around the town and explore, the creator said there’s some secrets to find. I could only really find 1, with the invisible path in the distorted town after finding the first mask. There’s a bright humanoid figure you can interact with, but it doesn’t seem to change anything.

The Father is an interesting game, though some of the scares are cheap. Especially the faces, though the last one was unusually creepy. The VHS filter was a nice touch, though the lines kind of obstruct the view sometimes. There’s two endings you can get depending on whether or not you ran away at the end. It was hard to tell you could even do that, so most people probably got the bad ending.
