Reviews of the best indie games and horror games

Potrick Snap – A Terrifying and Sloppy Spongebob Horror Game

Potrick Snap is the latest Spongebob indie horror game that easily fits into the itchio shovelware crap genre. I’m giving this game a review since it’s popular, and as a sort of plea to not support games like it.

You start out in the middle of Potrick’s rock, where he immediately demands you clean his house. It only takes a moment to tell how horribly built the game is. There’s only a couple places that I can give this game any credit. That’d be Potrick’s grotesque look, along with Spongebob and Mr. Krabs. They remind me of Mr. Krabs Overdoses On Ketamine and Dies, but without the fun gameplay. The game is so bad it’s laughable at certain points.

Not to mention the glitches. There’s a few points where you can get softlocked, and have to restart. The dev hasn’t fixed any of it. Potrick runs right up to you and blocks you from getting anywhere. Most or all of the voice lines are done via AI. Of course that’s not new to these sort of games, but along with the grammar/spelling errors mashed in, it’s another part of the insanity.

I know it’s probably kind of the point that it’s crappy, but I can’t shake off the combination of sh*tiness this easily. If that wasn’t bad enough, you even have to pay a dollar to play it. Maybe it was slapped together and people weren’t supposed to notice it, I don’t know. I feel like I’m complaining too much, but it’s deserved criticism.

Towards the end of the game, I couldn’t figure out how to pull the gun. That’s where I discovered a bunch of items never seen before, and some that were a part of some other game template. Those items were empty. Please YouTubers, and all indie horror gamers, can we never push an awful mess like this ever again?

Maybe people weren’t supposed to notice the game. Anyway, anyone can buy what they want, that’s how I got roped into this mess – but I wouldn’t recommend it. Out of my own confusion and doubt about this sketchy game, why it was made, and why it became popular I’ll give it a 1/10 instead of 0. Am I being unfair? An unfun reviewer? A hypocrite for paying a dollar and telling you not to? Please let me know, I need comments and feedback about this one. Email, YouTube, comments below are all good.
