Sleepless Kevin – Funny Indie Horror Game

Sleepless Kevin is a first person horror game where you play as Kevin, an insomniac who has a hard time sleeping. You make an appointment with your therapist since you can’t get any sleep and nothing you try works. The therapist’s advice turns out to be not very helpful, and he prescribes you sleeping pills. So you to go back home and try them before you go to bed.

Kevin lives in a small, but nice looking apartment. He’s got plenty of furniture, a compact living room, and a nice view of the city. You go to bed, but tons of small interruptions keep you up. He forgot to eat, or forgot to go to the bathroom etc. So he tries the pills and they still don’t seem to work too much. Actually, they start making Kevin feel stranger than he’s ever felt before.

Sleepless Kevin – A Comical Ghost Story

Sleepless Kevin E and Ze Repairs Pamphlet
Looks super old, and kinda cheesy.

He starts hearing things, and seeing things like the ghostly repairman from the magazine left at your door. At one point you hear a sudden whisper “Behind you” right into your ear which was especially freaky. Your hallucinations keep getting worse throughout the night, and he keeps waking up for more things he should’ve taken care of before.

Sleepless Kevin has a wonderful mix of comedy and horror. The ghost handyman running down the hall, and yelling at you to move was hilarious.

The section where you tried to go to the bathroom and ended up in the maze was scary, but neat to walk through. It almost felt like some sort of fun-house set up.

The ending was probably the funniest part, you should check it out on your own! It takes around 10 minutes to complete. The first bit with the therapist was kind of boring, it takes a few minutes to get through that. Definitely don’t be discouraged from that though! Developed by Hermit’s Worlds for the 2021 Halloween Game Jam with the theme “Ghost people doing normal people things.”
