Reviews of the best indie games and horror games

The Touch – One of the Creepiest Indie Horror Games Ever

I’ve seen a lot of indie horror game monsters, ghosts, killers, etc that freak me out. However the appearance of the ghost in The Touch is one of the creepiest of all time. Perfectly done reveal, chase, and graphics.

Late at night, you wake up to strange sounds coming from the living room. The walking is a bit slow, but does sort of add to the eeriness. Walking out to the long dark hallway with bad wallpaper is like something out of your childhood nightmares. Downstairs you’ll encounter your usual supernatural shenanigans. The TV turning back on, a chair falling over on it’s own. All a ruse to get you away from your baby.

Although it might not seem like it, you can run! Make sure to hold shift when trying to escape or you’ll probably keep getting caught. If you make it to the door, the game cuts to black. It’s a good ending where you get to escape with your baby. However, you get a bad ending if you get caught. The monster lifts you up and you’ll get a hell of a jump scare.

The attention to detail in The Touch is excellent. It’s a very complete and polished horror game. The small sounds of the house, barely breaking the complete silence. That alone creates an insanely creepy atmosphere. Even the fridge has a humming noise. I know it’s something small I’m pointing out, but this stuff matters a lot.

For a short indie horror game The Touch is one of the best, and I’d highly recommend it to any fans. It’s creepy, has crisp quality PS1 graphics, and well implemented horror cliches.
