El Masmelo is a short horror game where you go camping with your son. You start off in the middle of the woods at your campsite. You grab a marshmallow, and show your son how to roast it. Suddenly, he runs off into the darkness…
If you want to see the second ending, you should only roast one marshmallow. If you roast both, you get the bad ending. The graphics are simple, but it almost feels like a short horror movie.
You make your way through the dark woods with only a flash light. While searching for your son, you make a few small, but neat encounters. An abandoned house, a cave with a forgotten miner, and more.
El Masmelo makes a great name for a horror game monster. When you don’t share your marshmallows, he may just pay you a visit. If you do keep an extra, he will spare you and your son. If you don’t, he will show you no mercy. Although less than five minutes long, I enjoyed the small extra parts of exploration.
